Laws Worth Living By
The 10 Commandments were given to the Hebrews after God rescued them from slavery in Egypt. In His prelude to the Sermon on the Mount Jesus says in Matthew 5:17, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” Does this mean that the 10 Commandments are no longer relevant for the Christian today? Are we free from the law as the apostle Paul wrote?
In our summer series on the ‘Ten Words: Standards Worth Living For” we will lay out unpack three sets of laws given to the nation of Israel while also looking at the typological themes of these ten words beginning with creation that are woven throughout the God’s written Word.
